READ ABOUT THE 2025 ADVISER INSTITUTE
WHY?
To provide training, resources, and best practices to journalism and media educators. High school teachers are often underfunded and undertrained to lead extracurriculars like the newspaper, broadcast studios, yearbook, and more. We have the knowledge, let's build a bridge to support other educators.

WHO?
High school teacher and advisers that want to further develop skills and strategies to teach media. Most high school journalism teachers or advisers don't have a degree in communications. They simply voluntarily lead media focused classes or extracurriculars with little to no training, experience or resources. This workshop is designed to help with skills and build connections.

WHEN?
Tuesday, June 30, 2026, tentatively scheduled from 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM.
Session length will be 30-50 minutes.
OUR MISSION
The mission of the Pennsylvania School Press Association is to promote excellence and responsibility in scholastic journalism through developing students who possess sound journalism skills, demonstrate ethical decision making and recognize, uphold, and advocate First Amendment rights through responsible citizenship and informed media consumption.
